Rhino3D
To be an effective designer today, you need tools to quickly develop your designs and accurately communicate them to everyone in the product research, development, marketing, and manufacturing or construction process.
Start with a sketch, drawing, physical model, scan data, or only an idea—Rhino provides the tools to accurately

model and document your designs ready for rendering, animation, drafting, engineering, analysis, and manufacturing or construction.
- Rhino can create, edit, analyze, document, render, animate, and translate NURBS curves, surfaces, and solids with no limits on complexity, degree, or size. Rhino also supports polygon meshes and point clouds. Rhino offers:
- Uninhibited free-form 3-D modeling. Tools like those found only in products costing 20 to 50 times more. Accurately model any shape you can imagine.
- Extreme precision. Design, prototype, engineer, analyze, document, and manufacture anything of any size no matter how small or how large.
- Unrestricted editing. Revise freely without concern about how you got there or where you want to go next.
- 2-D drafting, annotation, and illustration. In addition, flatten 3-D surfaces into 2-D patterns and drive laser, plasma, and water jet cutters.
- Large project organization. Work with both large models and large teams.
- Compatibility. Exchange files with your other design, drafting, CAM, engineering, analysis, rendering, animation, and illustration software.
- File read and repair. Fix extremely challenging IGES and mesh files.
- Direct connection. Support for wide variety of 3-D digitizing arms, 3-D scanners, and 3-D printers.
- Customization. Easy-to-use tools let both you and software developers make Rhino fit your special needs.
- Short learning curve. Focus on design and visualization without being distracted by the software.
- Speed. Even on an ordinary laptop computer Rhino is fast. No special hardware is required.
- Affordability. Ordinary hardware. Short learning curve. Priced like other Windows software. No maintenance fees. Worldwide support is included.

- For new users:
Rhino 4.0 Evaluation
This fully functional (except the clipboard) version will save 25 times. After that it is still functional except it will not save and plug-ins will no longer run.
Flamingo Evaluation
Flamingo brings photo-realistic rendering to Rhino. This is a fully functional version except it has limited materials, light fixture, and plant libraries, and it also draws thin black lines across the final rendered image.
Brazil Evaluation
Brazil brings advanced rendering to Rhino. The evaluation version of Brazil for Rhino works unrestricted for 15 days. After that period, it is limited to a resolution of 640×480 and stamps a watermark onto every rendering.
Penguin Evaluation
Penguin brings freehand sketching, watercolor painting and cartoon-like rendering to Rhino. Penguin is a conceptual, sketch and cartoon, non-photometric scan line renderer. With Penguin you can create stylized images of your models with an artistic look for enhanced graphic and visual appeal.
Bongo Evaluation
Bongo brings professional animation into Rhino 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0, using familiar keyframe tools found in most high-end animation packages.
Rhino 4.0 Level I and II Training Manuals
The latest version of the training manuals that are on the Rhino CD.
Rhino Tutorial
When you have finished the tutorials included with the Rhino evaluation, try these advanced tutorials.
Rhino 4.0 Service Release
Service releases have critical bug fixes, stability and performance improvements, and minor enhancements. They are only available on the Internet. You should download and install the latest service release even if you do not experience any problems.
The Zoo
A workgroup license manager for Rhino 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, Flamingo, Penguin, and Bongo. The Zoo is free.
Third-party Plug-ins
Rhino 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 support plug-ins. Many features are added to Rhino at any time by anyone. Try these specialized tools.
Labs Projects
Experimental development projects… Many are useful tools that will be features in the next release. Others are just experimental technology that may never turn into anything useful. You are invited to give them a try.
Rhino 5.0 - Work in Progress/Beta
In order to get direct user input, the Rhino development process is open to all current Rhino users. If you would like to shape the next Rhino release, download the latest WIP/beta version and post your feedback on the Rhino newsgroup.
Rhino OS X - Work in Progress/Beta
In order to get direct user input, the Rhino development process is open to everyone. If you would like to shape the Rhino for OS X, download the latest WIP/beta version and post your feedback on the Rhino OS X forum.
Rhino 3.0 Service Release
The current Service Release brings older Rhino 3.0 builds up-to-date with the final release of Rhino 3.0. It includes many bug fixes and a few feature enhancements.
Training Materials Update
The latest version of the curriculum guide and training manuals that are included in the Rhino Lab Kit.
For advanced users and developers:
Grasshopper
For designers who are exploring new shapes using generative algorithms, Grasshopper® is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3-D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting.
